The ume and sugar are for sale...in supermarkets around the country! I made one jar of syrup last year and it disappeared within a few days of being opened, however, so I'm fairly sure there won't be any left after I "test" these jars to sell!
Sarah, sorry to break it to you but you forgot to put the booze in! I'm sure it was just a minor oversight on your part, if you get it in now it'll be fine I'm sure ;p
Heh heh heh! Nope, no alcohol! U's father and various others seem to be set on giving me bottles of ume-shu (not complaining! not complaining!!) and you can't buy the non alcoholic syrup so...
But if you are bent on an alcoholic drink you could mix the syrup with one part soda and one part vodka! Mmmmm... Or a little bit with some cheap champagne? Mmmm!
