Tracking Sakura - Final Day

It is with great sadness that I post today's photograph. The single blossom that had been holding on, outlasting the others in a show of independence and will, has fallen.

Late-blooming sakura are still a mass of pink, but The Branch is now almost entirely green (one petal is hanging on but...).

But there are other flowers yet to bloom, right??!?

It is a sakura miracle! All the trees around it are bare of blossoms but The Branch has one perfect flower still hanging on!

I worked today instead of yesterday so that I could get some official paperwork dealt with on a week day and was rewarded by a wet, cold, and generally miserable day today. I did take a picture of The Branch, and it does have a few blossoms still hanging on bravely, but not much left at all... sigh...

Only a few blossoms survived yesterday's wind and rain. But the sky is blue, the weather is warm, and petals are falling from above and carpeting everything.

A lot fewer blossoms on The Branch and the windy rainy weather promises there will be even fewer by the end of the day...

Hanami-ing (and the mountain of garbage) have increased with the warm sunny weather, but The Branch is showing signs of the end, as green leaves have appeared and a few flowers have lost their petals.

There is still one stubborn pink bud, so it looks like The Branch will hit peak over the weekend - just to spite me!

There are a few buds still closed, but just about at peek bloom!

The sakura survived the winds and storm yesterday and The Branch is about half blooming. The park is beautiful... Do I really have to work today?

There are some blossoms on the trees in the park, and even one on a different branch of The Tree, but so far not yet on The Branch. So kind of it to wait!

Definitely turning pink! I'm just worried they are going to go and bloom over the weekend, and I'm not quite dedicated enough to come to work on the weekend just to take pictures of sakura buds, sorry.

(badly out of focus due to the gusting wind that kept the branch in constant movement!)
