Yup! I work in a museum, we don't get national holidays! Of course, I'm working in a different department tomorrow doing won't get it off like the museum staff will!
I don't mind working national holidays most of the time, partly because the commutes tend to be easier (as long as you don't end up sitting by a pack of chatty obaachan), and I can take a later train, and there are few non-museum staff at work so it is quieter and more peaceful. But I wouldn't say no to a higher pay rate! ;)

ReplyDeleteEikaiwas don't close on national holidays either, but at least work is voluntary on those days, at a slightly higher pay rate. :)
