TILT
- cooking with the results of our herb garden (the basil TOOK OFF in the planter box in the living room window, and we've had a steady supply of homemade pesto sauce, mixed with lemon balm until the latter went to flower)
- harvesting a few (tiny!) stalks of rhubarb
- Alishan/Tengu foods whole wheat pancake/muffin mix made with yogurt, rhubarb (see above!), and strawberries... mmmmm!
- outdoor hotsprings on a windy evening
- an amazing friend agreeing to be my matron of honour and immediately surpassing my hopes with her amazing-ness
- ring shopping!

TILT
I've finally finished off a translation contract that has been taking up all my free time and have yet to get back onto track... But as I'm trying to shake off the blahs there are a few things brightening my day:
- U's new glasses (he desperately needed new glasses and I convinced him to go with a pair that I picked out and they look really good on the man!)
- the results of having spent more than half the weekend organizing U's wardrobe so that he knows where things are and they aren't stuffed in wherever they'll fit!
- "adult sweetness" green tea kitkats
- rhubarb cream cheese stuffed French toast and Sunday brunches!
- warm sunny days with the promise of spring

Thursday, already? Where did the weekend go? Oh, right, a translation contract that is close to do e but not quite close enough and... Gahhhhhh!
Right, so happy thoughts, things I'm loving this Thursday...
- assembling full dinners out of random bits in the fridge (and impressing U with said ability)
- planning birthday surprises (and not so surprises)
- the hesitant happiness of a brand-new relationship (a coworker! not me!)

TILS
Who said you can only post about things you love on a Thursday? Why not Saturday? There is so much more to love about a Saturday anyways (especially since my days off are Sunday - Monday and thus Saturday is the last day of my work week and an easier commute to boot).
So here goes, a few things I'm loving this Saturday.
- electric blankets - snuggling into a warm bed in an unheated room at night is the best feeling ever
- making a big decision about my next (professional) step and knowing it is right for me
- being supported in that decision by coworkers, bosses, and best of all, U
- (almost!!) finishing a big project at work and knowing (and having my coworkers and boss appreciate) that while it was a first time attempt for me and isn't perfect by far, it is a useful an important contribution and one that would not have happened at all had I not been there
- making a warming winter dinner largely from my own creation (cabbage gratin - yummmmm!) and having U literally scrape out the bowl to get the last drop!

- being welcomed as a regular at my favourite local Indian restaurant (and not just for the complimentary oolong tea!)
- a super tummy and friendly local Indian restaurant!
- taking the train with U every morning this past week as he has been attending a conference

Things I love Thursday
Between work being crazy busy and going away I've been neglecting my poor blog. So here goes a TILT post...
- Belgian (and British!!) chocolates filling the fridge and cupboard
- starting on a new project at work and being given the freedom to plan it from the start (sure I'll have to get my boss's okay before I actually do anything, but being given the freedom to plan it out on my own is exciting (and I'm sure good for my boss too, as it frees her up to do other things!)
- cuddling up in bed on cold nights
- having the time to cook dinner! (spicy meat and noodles on Monday, shoga-yaki on Tuesday, pumpkin pasta on Wednesday... nothing super fancy but just yummy and healthy meals with fresh ingredients)
- seeing friends happy (babies!)

- international festivals in Yoyogi koen (just in September there are Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Nepal, and India!!)

Vancouver Loving
Its still Thursday here in Vancouver and there is plenty to love!
- watching game one of the Stanley Cup finals with my dad and aunt (and of course the home team scoring the winning goal with 14 seconds left in the game!!!!)
- grilled zucchini
- fresh cherries
- waffles
- making plans to see good friends (one from far away who just happens to be here on a research trip this week)
- packing up my mum's good china (and knowing that U will honestly be thrilled and touched when I unpack them in our kitchen)
